Introduction

 

Baharagora Block was established in the year 1956. The distance of this block from  Jamshedpur is 95 KM and is located besides NH-33 on southeast bank of Subarnarekha  River near the border     of Orissa & West Bengal.

The Chitreswar Shiv Mandir, at village Chitreswar situated 35 miles from the Chakulia Railway Station is marked with a splendid fair held on Shiva Chaturdasi. The fair is so popular that people from the adjacent neighbourhood and even from the bordering villages of Medinapur, West Bengal and Mayurbhanj, Orissa congregate at the fair.
