Jublee Park
A circular lake known as the Bagkudar Lake in the vicinity of the court buildings at Jamshedpur was a beauty spot. In 1937 , a beginning was made to develop a central park under the guidance of Mr. S. Percy Lancaster. The project was resumed in August 1955 with the Company's Jubilee in mind and its layout entrusted to Mr. G H Krumbiegel , and Mr. B. S. Nirody who had to their credit the famous parks of Mysore State and the Moghul Gardens of Rashtrapati Bhawan New Delhi.
The grounds of the park cover approximately an area of 500 acres with the vista of Dalma Hills to the north and the panorama of the Steel Works to the south. In about two years a vast stretch of unpromising terrain was converted into one of the best parks in India. The park has been designed around a central axis running from the founder's statue at it's highest point through the Moghul Garden, the Foliage group and the Rose garden to the little island in the center of the Jubilee Lake. There are two children's garden in the park provided with swings and equipment for play and exercise. There is children's 80-ft square maze made of a low hedge. The Jubilee Lake with an area of 40 acres has been dredged and deepened for boating and performing an island in the center. There is a boathouse and a cafeteria.
There are three water showers in the park, which has a glittering look on the day of lighting i.e. on Tuesday and Sunday. This park has special look on 3rd of March the birth date of Jamshedji Tata. People come from different places to have a glimpse of the special beautification of this park.
TATA Zoological Park
Just besides the Jubilee park there lies the Zoological Park, which has been established by TATAs. The park has a beautiful lake, which has the provision for boating. The migratory birds fly in during the winter.
TELCO Bhuwaneswari Temple
This temple is located at a height of 500 ft approximately. People visit this place to worship Ma Bhuwaneswari. This temple is approximately 15 Kms from Sakchi Busstand and the same distance from Tatanagar Railway
Dimna Lake - 16 K.M
TATA Steel has constructed Dimna Lake in the Mirzadih panchayat of Patamda Block. This lake is near to the Dalma Wild life Sanctuary and is quite attractive having t he facility for boating. Tourists visit this lake especially during November to February. Even the t ourists keep on visiting this place during the other months too. The accessibility to this lake becomes easier via Jamshedpur.
Kankadhasa (Dalma) 18 K.M
Late Sanjay Gandhi inaugurated Dalma Wild Life Sanctuary in the year 1975. On the top of Dalma hill Guesthouses of forest department and TISCO are located. Further there is a Shiva temple for the Hindus, which becomes an eyecatcher during the Hindu festival "Shiv Ratri". From the top of this hill during night Jamshedpur City has an appearance similar to that of twinkling stars. The "Sangam" of Subarnarekha River and Kharkai River presents a joyful sight from the top of this hill.
On the hill small hideouts have been built near the ponds, which enables the wild animals to arrive there for drinking water thereby giving a close glimpse to the tourists. Wild elephants, deer, tigers are the animals found in this sanctuary.
Lawajoda Temple - 09 K.M
There are many sculptures and stones of mythologocal importance of 9th and 10th Century found in villages of Lawajoda, Bhula and Muni. At Lawajoda village there is a sculpture depicting a God drving an elephant. Villagers have got a firm belief in this holy place which has got mythological importance for Hindus.
Budha-Bidhi Hill
This is small dense forest is the right to be enjoyed by peace loving persons.
Shabar Nagar
Shabar Nagar of Potka lies in the Jamdih Panchayat at a distance of 18 Km from Potka Block headqaurter and is at a height of 70-80 Mts above sea level. On the top this there is approximately 250 acres of plane land. Around 70 families of Sabar Tribes are setlled at this place. To facilitate the education and bring up socially, the Sabar tribe, welfare department of Government has set up a High School with Hostel facility at this place.
Harina Shiva Temple
This place is approximately 29 Kms from Potka Block Headquarter. There is a famous Shiva Linga which is worshipped on the last day of the month of Jyastha. According to legend, on this day a number of Shiva linga spring up from ground near the original Shiva linga and disappear. On this occasion a fair is held which lasts for three days.
Rankini Temple
This place is situated in Bansila Gram Panchayat of Potka block. The temple of Rankini, it is said was formerly situated on a rock where human sacrifices used to be offered to her, the belief being that the Goddess herself killed the victims. The priests during those days mainly hailed from Bhumij Caste. Tourists visiting Ghatshila definitely visit this temple which is located in dense forest. This temple is also know as Kapadgadhi Ghat.
Binda Mela
This mela is held in the month of Aswin (October) every at Ghatshila proper for fifteen days. This mela was initiated from time immemorial by the fore fathers of the Raja of former Dhalbhum Estate. The festival was described as follows by Colonel Dalton: - At the shrine of this goddess (Rankini) a very cruel scene was enacted every year till 1865 when with the concurrence of the Zamindar, it was put a stop to. It was called the Binda Parab. At this Parab two male buffalo's are driven into a small enclosure, and on a raised stage, adjoining and over looking it, the Raja and the suit take up their position. After some ceremony's the Raja and his Purohit, or family priest, discharge arrows at the buffalo's; others follow their example and the tormented and the enraged beasts fall to and gore each other, whilst arrow after arrow is discharged. When the animals are passed doing very much mischief, the people rush in and hack them with battle-axes till they are dead.
Utensils, sweet meats, ornaments etc are sold in this mela by petty shopkeepers. It is a very popular mela particularly for the Santhals. Its popularly believed that human sacrifice used to be offered to Rankini Devi that was stopped near about 1856.
Water Fall
At Dharagiri, 6 miles north of Ghatshila there is a water fall 20 feet high, the legend about which is that the flow of the water is diverted if any man whose mother is not chaste places his head under it.
Panch Pandav
Three miles north west of Ghatshila, at a place called Panch Pandav, a stone can be seen bearing the figures of five men; the legend is that they are figures of the five Pandav brothers.
In addition to the above mentioned historical places at Ghatshila, one can pay a visit to Phuldungri Mountain, Galudih Resort Centre, Burudih Dam.

b. Dasha Bhuja Temple at Pawada Narsing Garh. Its distance from Dhalbhumgarh block headquarters is 1 K.M.
c. Triveneswar Temple at Pawada Narsing Garh. Its distance from Dhalbhumgarh block headquarter is 1 K.M.
d. Shiv Hanuman Temple at Pawada Narsing Garh. Its distance from Dhalbhumgarh block headquarters is 1 K.M.
e. Airport at Narsinggarh which was used during World War-II . This airport was built by the then British Government.
f. Kolkabera Kola Mountain at Dhalbhumgarh. The distance is approximately 1 K.M from Block Headquarter.

Gotashila Mountain
On this mountain there is located an ancient Shiva Temple. In the month of July special Puja is being are being offered to Lord Shiva on this mountain. This mountain has a natural waterfall. The approximate distance of this place from Block Head Quarter is 35 Kms.
Kanhaiswar Mountain
Kanhaiwswar Mountain has a beautiful Shiva Temple inside it among the dense forest. The natural forest gives an vegetative look of this temple. The temple is located at a distance of 20 Km from Chakulia Block Headquarter.
The places of interest at Musabani are :-
(a) Sidheswar Temple at Rakha Mines
(b) Zaher Sthan , the holy place where the Adivasi people offer prayers.

The tourist places in this block are namely :-
Lakhaidih - This place is at a distance of 15 Kms from block headquarters and is located in the middle of dense forest.
Bhimkand Jaher (Palashbani) - This place depicts the unique culture of Adivasi Society and is at a distance of 10 Kms from block headquarters.
Sunudor - This is a beautiful waterfall in the block of Dumaria and is located at a distance of 20 Kms from block headquarters.
Forest Block, Patramara, Maratolia - This are a dense mountainous region decorated with natural scenes and is at a distance of 17 Kms , 22 Kms & 12 Kms respectively from block headquarters.
a. Chitreshwer Shiv Mandir- 12 K.m
The Chitreswar Temple is located in the village Chitreswar which is about 35 miles from the Chakulia Railway Station. A big mela is held on the day of Shiva Chaturdasi. There is an old temple where Lord Shiva worshipped. About 10000 people from contiguous localities and also from the bordering villages of the Medinapur (West Bengal) and Mayurbhanj (Orissa) districts congregate. It is a very popular mela.
